Interesting idea, though this will only break even after driving 25,000 per year at $0.18/kWh and 3.8miles/kWh.

The only reason I’m for this is the high upfront costs of an home EVSE. Although with prices dropping, a 30A charger for under $800 capable of being plugged in to the dryer outlet, and is not that hard to pony up for.
