California officially becomes first in nation mandating solar power for new homes – Orange County Register

http://www.ocregister.com/california-officially-adopts-solar-requirement-for-new-homes-built-in-2020-or-later

This is game changing for climate change. With California leading the way, the rest of the nation should follow. Like LEED and CARB, solar on homes will be a standard that all homeowners will find invaluable and second nature.

With solar on all new homes, an EV is a no-brainer. There will be options to increase the system size to accommodate one or two EVs, without a large upfront cost.

The only way this could have been a better outcome is if solar were required for renovations of more than a certain amount or foreclosure/REO.

One can dream.
